Refine your poker skills and test your luck at a Texas Hold’Em Tournament on Saturday, February 9, starting, 7 pm at the Solomons Volunteer Rescue and Fire Department, to benefit United Way of Calvert County. Royal Candidates for the 2013 Mardi Gras, Beverly Brown, Clif Bridegum and James Piatt organized the tournament to raise more funds for local non-profits whose programs improve the education, financial stability and health of people living in Calvert County. The Texas Hold’Em Tournament features a $100 buy-in, with the winner taking home 10% of the total pot. Blinds are 20 minutes, starting at $25 and $50, with no rebuys. Spectators are welcome to attend for $20 a person. A delicious spread, along with snacks, drinks and beer courtesy of Budweiser will be offered to satisfy the appetites of patrons. Raffle Tickets will also be available, at $5 each or 5 for $20, for a free night at the Hilton Garden Inn Solomons on Tiki Bar opening weekend.
