On Sunday, February 3, beginning at 11:00 pm four Troopers from the Maryland State Police, La Plata Barrack participated in a Checkpoint Strike Force DUI Saturation Patrol. The saturation was concentrated on the Waldorf areas of Route 301, Route 205, Route 228, Route 5 and Route 925. This area was selected based on a high amount of previous DUI arrests and previous DUI related collisions in that area. During the operation, seventeen vehicles were stopped, twelve citations, seven warnings and eight safety equipment repair orders were issued. Two subjects were given Field Sobriety Tests, one resulted in Samuel Eric White, 56 of Waldorf, being arrested for DUI. Rusty Joseph Boatman, 24 of Colonial Beach, VA was arrested for an open warrant. He and his passenger, Eugenia Shanae Gross, 27 of Colonial Beach, VA were also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance as well as possession of paraphernalia.
