The Optimist Club of Prince Frederick is carrying the message of Respect for Law to all citizens this week. Activities are sponsored to inspire “respect for law” among young people through programs to educate them on the jobs these brave men and women perform and to promote a sense of well-being in the community. The problems associated with crime affect and touch all segments of our society and can erode the moral and economic strengths of our citizens and communities if unabated. Public awareness and determination to maintain preservation of law and order, along with the appreciation of the importance of law enforcement officers and their role in preserving social order is everyone’s responsibility. Crime and it’s effect upon the lives and property of our citizens is of great concern to all and the continued efforts of local government, citizen’s organizations, and individuals to abate this problem is greatly appreciated by all. All citizens are urged to join with the Optimist Clubs of Calvert County and carry the message of “respect for law” to other citizens and by example exercise responsible citizenship.
