On July 9, 2013 at 3:51 pm, a home owner on Golden Eagle Place, a townhouse community in Waldorf, heard a series of loud explosions to the rear of her fenced-in yard and called 911. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and requested the State Fire Marshal’s Bomb Squad for 6 chemical reaction bombs (soda bottle bombs) scattered across a common walking path. Two of the devices had not yet detonated and had to be rendered safe. The evidence was collected from the area and a follow-up investigation is following.
