“Today’s report from the Institute for Supply Management, which shows that our manufacturing sector growth accelerated in July, is further proof that America has what it takes to revitalize and sustain a strong manufacturing base. House Democrats’ Make It In America plan to create jobs and boost our economic competitiveness contains the best ingredients to help America’s manufacturing businesses succeed, expand, and hire trained workers for jobs that pay well. “Earlier today, I joined with several House Democratic colleagues to unveil new Make It In America bills in the four areas of focus that are critical to achieving job growth and a strong manufacturing sector: pursuing a national manufacturing strategy, promoting U.S. exports, encouraging manufacturers to bring jobs and innovation back to the U.S., and training and securing a skilled workforce for the twenty-first century. Passing legislation that makes a difference in these core areas will provide a shot in the arm for the private sector and help it drive forward the manufacturing job growth we need.
