After the rain storms on Saturday, and the sun came out, the Southern Maryland Bike Fest drew the crowds, estimated to be about a thousand, from the organizers of the event. Ripley from 97.7 The Rocket, was talking up the events as they were happening, and playing music with the two 97.7 interns. There were so many events going on, it was hard to choose. Bull riding on the mechanical bull seemed to attract the more daring, while things like Beer Pong Tournament and Corn Hole Tournament attracted others. Up on stage, bands were playing music and attracting fans. Sam Grow Band, Twenty 12 Tribe, Bar Dogs, Snake Bite and Night Hawks were giving quite a performance and the crowd loved it. It was a great mix of southern rock and blues. Some in the crowd were singing along. Lots of vendors were on hand to help the attendees find what they wanted for themselves or as gifts for others. Beer vendors, food vendors, tee shirt vendors, and lots more were doing business. And a nice touch, the fest had taxi’s available to provide rides to those who needed them at the end of the evening.
