Local bikers met at the Wawa at Route 4 and St. Andrews Church Road to join the ride to Washington, DC on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 6 am. From there the group rode to Toots for more riders before heading to Harley Davidson in Hughesville. The dealership had coffee and doughnuts waiting for the riders. The approximate 200 bikes and riders were then escorted to the Ft. Washington city line by Charles County Deputies and Maryland State Police. The bikers took 695 to 295 and rode around the perimeter of DC. After crossing the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, they arrived at the Washington Monument, where the group rested and cooled their bikes down, and grabbed something to drink and eat. The group saw license plates from many states joining the ride. The crowd was estimated at 1 million bikers by the Metropolitan Police Officers. Margit Miller / Staff Writer / Editor
