The following is a sample of recent events investigated by the Charles County Sheriff’s Office. ATTEMPT BREAK-IN: On Sept. 14 at 2:16 a.m., officers responded to the Dr. Samuel Mudd House in the 3700 block of Dr. Samuel Mudd Road in Waldorf for an intrusion alarm. Officers arrived quickly and discovered a lock was missing and a door was open. Officers searched the building but no one was inside. Officers did find burglary tools on the scene which were recovered as evidence. At this point, it does not appear entry was made and nothing was reported stolen. PFC R. Bagley is investigating. ROBBERY: On Sept. 11 at 4:04 a.m., three male suspects entered a convenience store in the 1000 block of St. Ignatius Drive in Waldorf. One suspect pulled a gun, assaulted the clerk, stole money and fled. The suspects are described as being in their teens to early twenties. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating. Charles County Crime Solvers is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.
