Accidental Fire Causes $30,000 in Damage

On September 17, 2013,  at 5:41 am, a fire at 2284 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, was discovered by the occupant, in a bedroom. The single story, wood framed house had smoke alarms and were operating. Waldorf, La Plata, Brandywine, Baden, Bryans Road, Clinton and Hughesville Volunteer Fire Departments responded. The fire was determined to be accidental from a malfunctioning compact refrigerator.
