UPDATE: Thomas Dion Gunn, of Lexington Park, plead guilty on Monday, December 2, to the charge of criminally negligent manslaughter by vehicle, that resulted in the death of James ”Jamie” Benjamin Clarke, Jr., 65, of Great Mills. Gunn was sentenced to three years in jail, with one year and six months suspended. He will serve the remaining one year and six month sentence at the St. Mary’s County Adult Detention Center and will be eligible for work release. The state did not pursue the remaining two counts of failure to immediately stop a vehicle at scene of accident involving bodily injury, and failure to immediately return and remain at scene of accident involving bodily injury Gunn was also sentenced to three years of supervised probation. 7/31/13: Charges have been filed against Thomas Dion Gunn, 22, of Lexington Park.
