St. Leonard Elementary School is serious about good behavior on schools busses—and they celebrate it with a sense of humor. As part of the Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program, students earn a “bus mile” when they demonstrate good behavior. Each time a bus earns 40 miles (40 positive trips home and back to school), the school celebrates. Each celebration has a theme, and the first celebration of 2013-2014 was: WE’RE HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY ABOUT YOUR GREAT BUS BEHAVIOR. St. Leonard staff members joined in the event with “Duck Dynasty” inspired costumes. Principal Toni Chapman said, “ the staff members at SLES go to great lengths to encourage positive bus behavior! We love to support our drivers in this way.
