Florida Tech Patuxent is pleased to announce the addition of two new faculty members and the unfortunate loss of another. Dr. Mark Kelly earned his J.D. from Marquette University Law School. He also holds B.S. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Applied Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Kelly provides patent counsel at NAVAIR. He has twenty years of patent experience as examiner, advisor, and attorney in both private and public sectors. In Spring 2014 Dr. Kelly is scheduled to teach MGT 5240 Business and Legal Aspects of Intellectual Property. Dr. Artem Saakian holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, an MSEE from University of Telecommunications in St. Petersburg, Russia, and a BSEE from Polytechnic Institute in Yerevan, Armenia. Dr. Saakian returns as a faculty member after publishing his textbook, “Radio Wave Propagation Fundamentals,” Artech House, 2011. He is a Senior Antenna Engineer at NAVAIR. In Spring 2014 he is co-teaching with Dr. Janet Gill ECE 5270 Special Topics in Systems with an emphasis on propagation using his textbook.
