Hoyer on Retirement of Congressman Frank Wolf

House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement today after Congressman Frank Wolf (VA-10) announced he will not seek reelection: “It has been a privilege to serve alongside Frank Wolf for over thirty years. He has not only been a strong partner in the Washington Metro area delegation, but he is a dear friend. Since he was first elected in 1980, Frank has served as a dedicated public servant, working on a bipartisan basis to improve the quality of life here in the Washington Metro area. “I have been proud to work with Frank on a range of issues, including fighting for fair pay and benefits for federal employees, promoting telecommuting, and improving transportation. We worked tirelessly during the Reagan Administration to assure the completion of the Washington Metro System. His advocacy was critical to our success. I congratulate him on years of dedicated service. He has been a champion on behalf of human rights here and around the world.
