Joseph Daniel Balsbaugh, 50, of Alexandria, VA formerly from St. Mary’s County, MD passed away on March 1 in Alexandria, VA. Born on Oct. 7, 1962 in Brunswick, MA, he was the son of Earl Elmer Balsbaugh, and the late Florence Caroline Balsbaugh. Joseph is survived by his siblings; James Balsbaugh of DE., Mark Balsbaugh of Lexington Park. Pat Balsbough of Mechanicsville, Susan Balsbaugh of PA. Joseph is preceded in death by his brother Paul Balsbough of Callaway. Mr. Balsbaugh moved to St. Mary’s County in 1963, and he graduated from Great Mills High School in Great Mills, MD. Joseph worked for Southern Tree Service for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 8 from 10 – 11 a.m. in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Deacon Bill Nickerson officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; James Balsbaugh, Mark Balsbough, Pat Balsbough, Charles Balsbaugh, Sam Wren, and Justin Thompson.
