With the threat of winter weather looming the St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks is instituting some changes to its schedule. All afternoon and evening Recreation Leisure and Sports programs are cancelled for the remainder of the day. Also all Recreation and Parks facilities, Great Mills Swimming Pool, and gymnastics center will all close at 5:00 p.m. There are a number of ways the public can verify the status of Recreation and Parks weekend activities. Citizens can access news releases on the county website (www.stmarysmd.com), and county Facebook page (http://tinyurl.com/95kt4mw). Updates can also be found on the Recreation and Parks webpage (www.co.saint-marys.md.us/emergency/rpannounce.asp), and its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/stmarysmdrecreation). Activity updates will also be sent to all local media outlets.
