All scheduled volunteers needed to report on time Despite last night’s snowfall, the Point-in-Time homeless survey will take place today, January 29 as planned. The survey will kickoff today at noon at LifeStyles of Maryland, 101 Catalpa Drive, Suite 103 in La Plata. All volunteers who have committed their time to this effort are needed to report at their scheduled time. The annual Point-in-Time survey is a count of every sheltered and unsheltered individual throughout Southern Maryland. The survey will provide agencies with important data on the homeless population, which is critical for federal and state grant applications and could result in an additional 60 HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing vouchers to support veterans in Southern Maryland. There are more than 1,000 individuals and families who experience homelessness annually in our region.
