On February 6, 2014 at 6:47 pm, the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded to Ruston Place for a two story townhouse fire, reported by neighbors. The Charles County Sheriff’s Office also responded. When they arrived they found smoke coming from the vacant home. The investigation revealed that someone had forced entry into the townhome and the carpeting in the living room had been set on fire. The investigation is continuing. There was no smoke alarm. The townhome was owned by Nationwide Advantage Mortgage. The estimated loss to the structure is $1000 and $2000 to the contents.
