Jim Ed Warden Signs For His 5th Season With Crabs, Eyes League Saves Record In his first of what will become many signings as Blue Crabs manager, Lance Burkhart announced the first official signing of the 2014 season by inking right-handed pitcher, Jim Ed Warden, to a deal to rejoin the Blue Crabs for the 2014 season. Warden will enter his sixth season as a member of the Crabs. Through his first five seasons with the club, the 6’7” closer has compiled 117 saves in in 256.0 innings and an ERA of 2.92. His 117 saves ranks him second all-time in the Atlantic League just behind Mike Guilfoyle of Bridgeport who tallied 122 saves for Bridgeport from 1998-2003. Last season, Warden had arguably his finest year as a member of Crustacean Nation. He finished 2013 with career highs in saves (35) and games (61). The 2013 Atlantic League All-Star and Post-Season First Team Award Winner totaled a 3-4 record with a 1.50 ERA and 49 strikeouts.
