Light snow has fallen across the county during the overnight hours and has caused few problems on county and state roads. Roads have been reported clear but wet and there are no snow crews out at the present time. Snow accumulations have been reported on grassy surfaces and on parked cars only. St. Mary’s County Government will be open as usual for regular business. All St. Mary’s County Public Schools are closed this week for spring break. St. Mary’s Transit System will operate on a normal schedule. All St. Mary’s Recreation and Parks facilities will be open. The scheduled Maryland Day ceremony will go on as scheduled at the St. Clement’s Island Museum in Colton’ Point beginning at 11 a.m. Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown is expected to make an appearance and deliver remarks. All Senior Activity Centers will be open and Meals on Wheels will be delivered. Congregant meals will also be served at the centers. Circuit Court will open on time and operate under its normal schedule. St. Mary’s County Government will continue to monitor the status of the storm and will provide updates when necessary.
