On Thursday March 28th, 2013, at approximately 12:45 pm, Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to Eastbound Rock Point Road west of Cobb Island Rd, Newburg, Charles County, for the report of a collision involving two vehicles. Troopers arrived on scene at approximately 12:54 pm. Preliminary investigation revealed a 2000 dark red Mercury Sable was traveling westbound on Rock Point Road west of Cobb Island Road at which time the driver of vehicle 1, Amanda Marie Bradshaw, 24, of Cobb Island, lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle veered off the roadway causing it to skid across Rock Point Road over the double yellow center lines into opposing traffic, where it was subsequently struck by a 2010 green Toyota Camry, driven by Connie Miller, age 72, of Cobb Island, who was traveling east on Rock Point Road. Miller had a passenger, Roger Alan Miller, 72, of Cobb Island. Bradshaw had two juvenile passengers, age one and two, in her vehicle. The Maryland State Police La Plata Troopers and MSP Crash Team Members responded to the scene of the collision at 1:15 pm. A detailed crash investigation will be conducted.
