SMAWL Joins St. Mary’s College of Maryland Students for St. Mary’s College Cares Campaign this April—National Volunteer Month St. Mary’s Animal Welfare League (SMAWL) is pleased to join St. Mary’s College of Maryland in the launch of St. Mary’s College Cares, a community-service campaign driven by the students of St. Mary’s College. The St. Mary’s College Cares campaign kicks off this April—National Volunteer Month. SMAWL is one of several local organizations within St. Mary’s County helping the students of St. Mary’s College reach their goal to infuse 1,000 community-service hours into the county in an ambitious one-month span. On Saturday, April 6, St. Mary’s College students will help SMAWL by helping to care for homeless cats looking waiting for their forever homes at our Cat Castle located in the Callaway Village Shopping Center, 20845 Callaway Village Drive, Unit 2B, Callaway, Maryland 20620. “SMAWL is looking forward to partnering with St. Mary’s College Cares,” said Katie Werner, President of SMAWL. “We are an all-volunteer organization that works with the care and rescue of companion animals in our community and the help of the students from St. Mary’s College is invaluable to the work we do.
