St. Mary’s County Hits for Heroes wooden bat softball tournament will be held June 1st and June 2nd, 2013. Hits for Heroes is sponsored through the American Legion Post 54 in Compton and supported by the combined efforts of the St. Mary’s County Over 40 Men’s Softball League, American Legion Posts in Compton and Ridge, the VFW Post in California, and numerous other community partners. “Hits for Heroes” mission is to support local combat veterans, who through their dedication to serve, have suffered devastating injuries. All proceeds are given directly to the warriors. All teams are welcome: Men, Women, Co-Ed. Teams should have 10 members so gather your friends, family and co-workers for a weekend of great fun, food and support. Donation is $100 per team. There will be multiple fields and a Championship game This year, Hits for Heroes, June 1st and 2nd, will once again sponsor a weekend long wooden bat tournament. Local Warriors PFC De’Shawn Kittrell of Great Mills and SPC4 Jeffery Shonk of Hollywood will be supported.
