Theodore G. Davis Middle School held its fourth annual walk-a-thon at North Point High School on April 26. This is the fourth year that Davis seventh graders have partnered with the Charles County Humane Society to donate food, newspapers, blankets and money as part of a student service learning project. This year, students raised $1,494.35 bringing the total amount raised to $10,000 over the past four years. Pictured, from left, are students Logan Steel and Howard Mathews; gifted language arts teacher and National Honors Society advisor Kathryn Peavy-Atkins; student Abby Gerstman; and three-year-old German shepherd, Mocha Espresso. The Humane Society brought Mocha Espresso to inform and educate students on the importance of saving and caring for animals.
