Calvert County Circuit Court Associate Judge Gregory Wells to Address CSM’s Spring Graduates The College of Southern Maryland will celebrate its 54th spring commencement at the La Plata Campus on May 16 with the keynote address to be provided by Calvert County Circuit Court Associate Judge Gregory Wells. Wells was appointed to the 7th Judicial Circuit by Gov. Martin O’Malley in November 2012. Wells served with distinction on the District Court of Maryland for District Four (Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties) since 2008. Prior to his first judicial appointment, he served as an assistant attorney general in the Criminal Appeals Division of the Attorney General’s Office and as state’s attorney for Calvert County, the first African American to serve in that position. Earlier in his career, he served as the domestic relations master in Calvert County, as a deputy state’s attorney for Calvert County and in various positions with the State’s Attorney’s Office for Prince George’s County. Born in Washington, D.C., Wells attended Gonzaga College High School.
