ABC Liquors and Lounge located in California has recently installed an impressive; high-tech growler filling station called the PEGAS along with a variety of high quality craft beers which will be available for carry out beginning October 1. The PEGAS is a growler filling system that allows beer to be transferred from keg to growler in peak condition. It uses a counter-pressure filling method to ensure there is almost no oxygen introduced into the beer. Oxygen causes foaming and can ruin the flavor of the beer. The growler filling system insures the beer will maintain its freshness over a long period of time. The selection of growlers that will be available are in 32 or 64 ounce dark brown glass bottles and are adorned with the ABC logo, making it both a fun and functional tote for fresh craft beer  for take home use and an excellent gift idea for the craft beer lover in your life. Some may wonder exactly how the take out beer container received its name, well it is said that in the late 1800’s – 1900’s patrons would visit their local pubs and purchase beer to go. The beer was placed in small-galvanized pails. Rumor has […]
