The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind citizens and visitors that the Hollywood Fire Department will hold their Independence Day celebration on June 29, 2013, starting at 5:00 pm and concluding at midnight. The heaviest traffic delays should be expected between 9:30 and 11:30 pm. During this time, traffic will be greatly impacted with back-ups and long delays. Expect a change in traffic patterns in the following areas: Traffic will be stopped intermittently for pedestrians to cross the north and south bound lanes of Three Notch Road at the median crossover, opposite the entrance to the fire house. This will greatly impact the Rt 235/Three Notch Road corridor and connecting roads, causing major delays. Three Notch Road – north bound, one lane closure, starting north of Sotterley Road and Leonardtown Hollywood Road. Three Notch Road – south bound, one lane closure, starting south of Rescue Lane. Old Three Notch Road traffic will be affected and shoulder parking for the event will be prohibited. The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office encourages citizens and visitors to plan accordingly and have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day celebration.
