The Newtowne Players are pleased to announce their new 2013-2014 season, the 10th anniversary season for St. Mary’s County’s only community theatre. Produced in partnership with Historic St. Mary’s City, season opener Much Ado About Nothing chronicles two pairs of lovers in Shakespeare’s famous comedy. Benedick and Beatrice are engaged in a very “merry war,” as they are both very witty and proclaim their disdain of love. In contrast, Claudio and Hero are sweet young people who are rendered practically speechless by their love for one another. The show runs Aug. 23-Sept. 15, 2013. Directed by Beth Sanford.
