September 7 at Waldorf West Library The Charles County Arts Alliance is presenting its second “Meet the Artists” Public Reception of 2013 on Saturday, September 7, at the Waldorf West Library in St. Charles. The reception takes place from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in the main gallery located on the first floor. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public. The Charles County Arts Alliance manages four separate gallery spaces year-round on two floors of the Waldorf West Library, in partnership with the Charles County Public Library. The current multimedia exhibit showcases 23 local artists and is the third art exhibit to be presented by the Arts Alliance since the Waldorf West Library opened in November 2012. It is taking place during the period July 2 – September 30, 2013, and is focused on the “horticulture” theme. According to Webster’s Dictionary, horticulture is the art and science of growing fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants. The current exhibit explores the breadth and depth of nature’s bounty and beauty in and around Charles County.
