The Maryland Environmental Trust (MET) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Walker as Easement Planner. Walker has prior experience with land conservation organizations in the mid-Atlantic and has worked to protect, steward and restore land since 2006. “Maryland has a wonderful variety of landscapes and it is great that so many property owners are willing to preserve their land,” said Walker. “I am excited about the opportunity to work for MET, and look forward to helping landowners across the State conserve more land for the future.” Walker will be completing conservation easements in northern and western Maryland through the end of 2013 and will remain with MET until April 2014. Most recently, he worked to encourage and oversee easements for the Northern Virginia Conservation Trust. Walker also served as a stewardship staffer for the Virginia Outdoors Foundation, and worked in land planning and conservation with the U.S. Forest Service in California, as well as the Accokeek Foundation in southern Maryland.
