UPDATE – Official Press Release: Maryland State Police are investigating a possible attempted murder suicide in St. Mary’s County. The deceased is identified as James Daniel Dean, 48, of the 43,000 block of Johnson Road in Hollywood, Maryland. Dean was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. The victim is identified as Angela Dean, 43, also of the 43,000 block of Johnson Road in Hollywood. Angela is the wife of the deceased and is currently being treated at the Prince George’s Hospital Trauma Unit for gunshot wounds. Shortly before midnight last night, the St. Mary’s County Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call from Angela Dean. She reported having an argument with James and that he was in the process of loading a gun. During the phone call, which lasted less than one minute, noise that sounded like gun shots were heard in the background. Patrol units from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office immediately responded to the scene.
