Jackie “Jack” Charles Matlock, Sr., 66 of Chaptico, MD, died January 22, 2014, at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown, MD.He was born November 14, 1947 in Annapolis, MD to the late Donald Cort Matlock and Imogene Leo Harris Matlock. On December 14, 1974, Jack married his beloved wife, Florence Matlock, in Anne Arundel County, MD. Together they celebrated 39 years, “10″ wonderful together as he lovingly joked. He was employed for twenty-five years by Kay Management until his retirement in 2010 as a Chief Mechanical Engineer. He also worked in welding and as a tractor trailer driver. He enjoyed helping others, and dedicated his life to doing just that. For the past twenty years, he spent time helping all his Amish friends with transportation to various places. He was a strong advocate for the American Red Cross, donating blood every six months and recruiting as many people as possible to do the same. He also believed in giving as an organ and tissue donor and was able to save many lives with his final wishes. Family was Jack’s first priority.
