David Dale Haines, 90, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 3, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA and was the son of the late Argosa May (Smith) Haines and the late Fred Edwin Haines. Dave was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and he was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He had a lengthy career in retail sales, beginning in Los Angeles, CA and ending in Washington, D.C. He was a fan of all sports, but he was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins. He loved music and enjoyed performing with fellow Barbershop Singers. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and VFW. In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia Ann (Martyr) Haines; his son, Frederick Alonzo Haines; and his sister, Sara (Haines) Rosemeyer.
